Hoshi is a member of Seventeen, a thirteen-member South Korean boy band formed by Pledis Entertainment that debuted on May 26, 2015. Before the group's debut, he co-hosted the pre-debut AfreecaTV special 'Hoshi and Seungkwan's Andromeda' alongside Seungkwan. He explained that Seventeen's trainees began creating choreography for pop songs and making music themselves during the pre-debut period, a process that shaped the group's self-production approach.
